vpmk PRE-CHECK

With our vpmk Pre-Check, you can check in advance whether your idea can work, whether you meet the personal requirements and whether you have considered everything to build your business in Germany and have a valid chance to obtain a residence permit as managing director of it.

1. The business idea

Do you have a specific business idea?

Why this is important: The authorities will not consider a vague statement such as “I want to do something related to export.” You need a clear profile to convince the authorities!

2. The location

Have you already decided on a specific location in Germany?

Why this is important: Since the local Chamber of Commerce or economic development agency will issue a statement on your project, which is very relevant for the embassy and the immigration office, you need to know who is responsible. A local connection (e.g., proximity to suppliers or customers) always has a positive effect.

3. The economic and regional demand

Is there economic interest in your planned business or a particular regional need in Germany?

Why this is important: The authorities will check whether your business actually benefits the German and regional economy at your chosen location. A local shortage of what you offer is the strongest argument.

4. The impact on the economy

Will your activity have a positive impact on the German economy (e.g., through innovation or job creation)?

Why this is important: The more jobs you create and the more innovative your model is, the more likely it is that the “positive impact” will be affirmed.

5. The secured financing

Is the capital for implementing your business idea secured by equity?

Why this is important: Without proof that the financing is in place, it will be very difficult for you to move forward. The German government does not want to and will not bear the financial risk.

6. Qualifications and experience

Do you have the necessary professional qualifications and entrepreneurial experience for this specific project?

Why this is important: The authorities must be able to trust that you have the professional ability to run the company successfully. A degree or training in this field and several years of professional experience (ideally including management experience) are helpful here, but not absolutely necessary. It really depends on the specific case.

7. Personal living expenses

Can you cover your private living expenses (rent, health insurance, food) in addition to the investment costs in the start-up phase?

Why this is important: The visa will only be granted if it is certain that you can finance yourself. Private reserves are important, but the business plan must also show that your business idea will be profitable.

8. Retirement provisions (if you are over 45 years)

If you are over 45 years of age: Do you have adequate retirement provisions (assets, pension entitlements)?

Why this is important: This is a legal minimum requirement for older founders in order to avoid placing a burden on the social security system later on. In this case, you must therefore have sufficient savings or pension entitlements so that you will not be dependent on state assistance in old age.

If you answered these eight questions positively, you have already fulfilled many of the relevant requirements for a successful immigration process. Now it's time to focus on the details. We look forward to working with you to plan and support your business immigration.
